St. Lucie Inlet Pottery, or SLIP for short, is a ceramics studio combining the individual and collaborative artistic talents of Amanda, Peter, and Zachary. The home studio is located in Stuart, Florida near the St. Lucie Inlet. The pottery studio was officially founded in 2022 after ceramics became a pandemic passion for the family.
Given its location and the messy liquid mud produced in the throwing process, SLIP became an obvious naming choice. The collaborative team combine their strengths in throwing, hand-building, and sculpture with glazing, decoration, and alternative firings to create unique, original handmade ceramics ideal to adorn your home or give as a the perfect one-of-a-kind gift.
Amanda
Owner / Artist
I love to create art. From needle point to papercrafts I have so many hobbies I’ve lost count, and space in my closets for all the tools and materials. I now find myself starting a new adventure, combining an old love for ceramic arts with the entrepreneurial sprit of owning my own business. My business goals are to create and sell unique handmade ceramic pieces for people to cherish, use, and share.
Education: Oregon State University, Bachelor of Fine Arts – Graphic Design and Interactive Multimedia, Art History. Clackamas Community College, Associates of Fine Arts.

Potter / Creator / Tech Support
It would be fair to say pottery, for me, started as my mid-COVID-19 pandemic hobby. I was inspired by the “Great Pottery Thrown Down” to take a wheel-throwing try-it night at the local “Clay Haus” studio. The experience triggered a primal desire to continue to play in the mud, and throw things.
I found a local non-profit studio with lessons, and a few classes later, I’m the proud owner for a wheel, a kiln, and several hundred wonky pots. Quickly running out of cupboard space I’ve ticked my wonderful wife into setting up shop to offload our surplus ceramics. Aside from throwing things, I support St. Lucie Inlet Pottery as a content creator and tech support.
Education: No Formal Arts Education. A couple of classes from Indian River Clay a non-profit community ceramics studio.
Zachary
STUDIO Apprentice
Seeing my parents making a muddy mess and throwing things inspired me to give ceramics a try. I was fortunate enough to have a few youth wheel-throwing lessons from the “Clay Haus” studio in Palm Beach Gardens. Creating bowls and cylinders from a ball of clay was surprisingly rewarding and a total change from my usual interests as a video gamer, role-player, YouTuber, and musician – not to mention my commitment to schooling, youth sailing, and SCUBA diving.
While I have yet mastered all the techniques, I specialize in uneven pots, thin bottoms, and lump walls – ideal for cute little succulent holders.
